Terms of Service

1. Agreement to these terms

These Terms of Service are a contract between you and Local More Local LLC (“Local More Local,” “we,” “us”). By using localmorelocal.com, submitting a quote request, or creating an account, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the site. You must be at least 18 years old and a legal resident of the United States to submit a quote request.

2. What the service does

Local More Local operates a homeowner–contractor marketplace for the Coachella Valley. Homeowners can use (a) an AI-assisted chat to understand likely causes and rough cost ranges, (b) a cost calculator and educational guides, and (c) a project matching service that publishes anonymized project details to a limited pool of participating contractors. Using the core homeowner tools is free. Contractors may purchase a membership to view and participate in the marketplace. When a homeowner chooses a specific contractor to move forward with, the contractor pays a connection fee and the homeowner’s contact information is released to that contractor.

3. AI diagnoses and cost estimates are informational only

Diagnoses, likely causes, repair recommendations, and cost ranges are generated by an AI model from the limited information you provide, without an inspection of your property. They may be incomplete, inaccurate, or inapplicable to your situation. They are not formal contractor quotes or bids, are not binding on us or any contractor, and are not professional repair, engineering, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, legal, financial, or safety advice. Always consult a qualified licensed professional before performing repairs or making decisions affecting your safety, property, or finances. In an emergency, contact emergency services or a licensed professional immediately.

4. Contractors are independent — we do not vet or endorse them

Contractors introduced through this site are independent third parties. They are not our employees, agents, partners, or subcontractors, and we have no authority over their work.

We make no representation or warranty that any contractor is licensed, bonded, insured, qualified, background-checked, available, or that their work, pricing, or conduct will meet your expectations. We do not independently verify licenses, insurance certificates, credentials, reviews, or the accuracy of information contractors provide about themselves. Any statement that a contractor has “accepted” your quote simply reports what that contractor told us; it is not our endorsement.

Before hiring anyone, verify their license with the California Contractors State License Board at cslb.ca.gov, request a certificate of insurance, and get a written contract. Any agreement, payment, scheduling, dispute, warranty, or lien issue is strictly between you and the contractor. We are not a party to it and have no obligation to mediate, refund, or make you whole.

5. Your submissions and marketplace contact

You agree that the information you submit is accurate and that it is yours to submit. By submitting a project request, you authorize us to share an anonymized version of your project description, service category, ZIP code, and budget range with participating contractors in our marketplace.

We will not share your name, email address, phone number, or exact street address with any contractor until you actively select that contractor and click “Move Forward” or a similar confirmation. At that point, you consent to that contractor contacting you by email, phone, or text about your project. You can revoke further matching by asking us to stop at contact@localmorelocal.com. Our handling of your information is described in the Privacy Policy.

6. Accounts

You may create a homeowner account to track your projects, view quotes, and manage which contractors can contact you. Homeowner accounts are free.

Contractor accounts are created by private invitation from Local More Local. The invited business owner must claim the company, sign in, and complete the contractor profile before the account is active. You are responsible for keeping your password and account credentials confidential and for all activity under your account. Tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorized use. We may suspend or terminate any account that violates these terms or that we reasonably believe is being used fraudulently.

7. Contractor membership and marketplace fees

Participating contractors must maintain an active Marketplace Membership. Membership is billed monthly (currently $50.00 per month) through Stripe and renews automatically until cancelled. Membership fees are non-refundable except where required by law. We may change the membership price or fee structure with notice; continued membership after the change means you accept it.

When a homeowner selects a contractor and chooses to move forward with a project, that contractor is charged a connection fee (the amount displayed at the time of selection). The connection fee is a separate billable event from membership dues and is not refundable once the homeowner’s contact information has been released. Paying the connection fee does not guarantee a project, contract, or payment from the homeowner; it only unlocks the ability to contact the homeowner about the specific project.

We use Stripe to process payments. We do not store full payment card numbers. Stripe’s terms and privacy practices apply to payment processing. If a payment fails, we may suspend marketplace access until the balance is resolved.

8. Opportunities, quotes, and messaging

Project opportunities displayed to contractors are anonymized. A contractor may choose to submit a quote or message through the platform. Homeowners can review quotes and messages before deciding whether to release their contact details. Once a homeowner confirms a connection, the selected contractor may receive the homeowner’s name, email, phone number (if provided), and project details.

Contractors are not guaranteed a minimum number of opportunities, quotes, or connections. We limit the number of participating contractors per opportunity to keep the experience useful for homeowners.

9. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Submit false, fraudulent, or someone else’s information.
• Scrape, harvest, or resell contractor listings, quotes, or site content.
• Use the site for spam, harassment, or any unlawful purpose.
• Attempt to circumvent security, access other users’ data, or interfere with the operation of the site.
• Use automated tools to submit quote requests or overload our systems.

10. Intellectual property

The site, its content, guides, calculators, branding, and design are owned by Local More Local LLC and protected by copyright and trademark law. You may view and print content for your own non-commercial use. You retain ownership of the content you submit, and grant us a license to use it to operate the service, including forwarding it to contractors and generating your quote documents.

11. Disclaimer of warranties

The site is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and any warranty arising from course of dealing or usage of trade. We do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any content, estimate, or match will be accurate or meet your needs.

12. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Local More Local LLC and its members, officers, and contractors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, property damage, personal injury, or business interruption, arising out of or relating to your use of the site, any AI-generated estimate, or any interaction, agreement, or work involving a contractor — whether based in contract, tort, negligence, strict liability, or otherwise, and even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Our total aggregate liability for all claims relating to the site will not exceed one hundred U.S. dollars ($100). Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you; nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited under California law, including for fraud or willful misconduct.

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from your use of the site, your violation of these terms, or any dispute between you and a contractor.

13. Binding arbitration and class action waiver

Please read this section carefully — it affects your legal rights.

Informal resolution first. Before starting an arbitration, you agree to email contact@localmorelocal.com describing the dispute and the relief you want, and to give us 30 days to resolve it.

Arbitration. If we cannot resolve it, any dispute arising out of or relating to these terms or the site will be resolved by final and binding individual arbitration administered by JAMS under its Streamlined Arbitration Rules, before a single arbitrator, seated in Riverside County, California, or conducted remotely at your election. The Federal Arbitration Act governs this section.

Class action waiver. Disputes will be brought only in your individual capacity. You and we waive any right to bring or participate in a class, collective, consolidated, or representative action. If this waiver is found unenforceable as to a particular claim, that claim proceeds in court and the rest of this section still applies.

Exceptions and opt-out. Either party may bring an individual claim in small claims court or seek injunctive relief for intellectual property misuse. Nothing here waives a non-waivable public injunctive relief claim under California law. You may opt out of arbitration by emailing contact@localmorelocal.com with “Arbitration Opt-Out” in the subject line within 30 days of first accepting these terms; opting out does not affect any other part of these terms.

14. Governing law and venue

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict of law rules. For any dispute not subject to arbitration, you and we consent to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Riverside County, California.

15. Changes and termination

We may update these terms; the effective date above will change and continued use after an update means you accept it. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the site at any time. Sections 3, 4, 10, 11, 12, 13, and 14 survive termination.

16. Miscellaneous

If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. These terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the site. You may not assign these terms; we may assign them in connection with a merger or sale of assets.
